A Rohingya woman said members of the Myanmar police blocked her way in Maungdaw City and threatened to assault her and then robbed her of money she had.
This comes in the context of the frequency of complaints by Rohingya women against police officers of being subjected to violence, discrimination, theft of jewelry and money, and the beating and killing of their children.
The woman pointed out that the money stolen from her was estimated at 80,000 kyats of Myanmar. while the other women are also robbed.
Rohingya activists have recently trafficked a number of cell phones with evidence of excessive violence, destruction of supplies, theft and robbery of money, jewelry and furniture by Buddhist soldiers.
