Rohingya fishermen aged between 35 and 38 years in the village of Choctaw Arakan beaten and assaulted by three unidentified Buddhists extremist during their return from the fishing trip; what led to serious injuries in different parts of body with caused victims unconsciousness as cowering assailants fled.
According to a source the Rohingya fishermen are often subjected to harassment and assault on regular basis by the Buddhists majority in a nearby village while going for fishing trips or returning from them, adding that Rohingyas from the village of Choctaw are facing living difficulties and that fishing near the village from the river is the only source for the livelihood as Burmese government always impose curfews, without giving a specific date for the end of the ban since the events of sectarian violence in 2012.
