The chairman raised the current issues of the camp as; water crisis, medicine crisis, shelter replacement. The chairman added that they Rohingya refugees have escaped persecutions and barbarous atrocities conducted by Burmese government and living uncertain lives in camp with refugee status since 1992 but no solution is ensured yet. He further said, ” we are neither able to return to our homeland due to continuing human rights violation and denial of citizenship rights by Burmese government nor accord us citizens in Bangladesh since it is a small, over populated and poor country. We also don’t want to be extra burden in this country. We want no more refugee life and reliant on assistance of others. So we would like to urge UNCHR and International communities to ensure our durable solution which is the responsibility of UNHCR according to the 1951 Geneva Convention and 1967 Protocol.
In replying to questions and appeal of chairman, the Coordinator of UNHCR said, “we are trying for your durable solution. But it may take times”.

Another refugee leader said, “I have been here for decades and I saw many high level officers from UNHCR and International communities visited Nayapara and they said, we are trying for your durable solution but nothing is done yet”. According to chairman, he do hope that this high profile officer must make attempt for durable solution of refugees as per three options of UNHCR to be done for refugees.
