UAE orders Aid to help Rohingya refugees

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has ordered to provide emergency relief supplies to Rohingya refugees fleeing Myanmar as violence and persecution intensify in the refugee camps, Million refugees in a wave of displacement, the largest of its kind in decades, which puts great pressure on humanitarian institutions and providers of assistance.

According to the Emirates News Agency, this generous gesture comes from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in recognition of the UAE’s approach to helping all needy people and in an effort to alleviate the suffering of Rohingya refugees and help them overcome the difficult living conditions in light of the scarcity of aid and rations. The United Nations and non-governmental humanitarian organizations to address one of the greatest humanitarian problems facing the world at the present time.

The World Humanitarian City in Dubai will operate the airlift, which launched its first flight on Monday, as well as three additional flights for humanitarian aid and relief supplies to be launched from Dubai on October 11, 13 and 15 as an extension of the assistance provided by Dubai to Rohingya refugees Over the past weeks, the relief goods provided to them through the three consignments managed to date have been coordinated by the city about 4.4 million dirhams “about 1.2 million dollars.”
