Mr. Wahiduddin Kagan, the international relations officer of the Turkish relief organization IHH, accused the Myanmar government of ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya for the purpose of expelling them from their land and settling Buddhists there.
In an interview with Anadolu, Kagan warned that if the world continues to ignore the crisis and not press the Myanmar government, “there will be no Rohingya (in Arakan province in western Myanmar).”
“The problem of the Arakan province is not new, it has a very long history, and the Myanmar government does not consider Rohingya citizens on its territory, and even the international system does not recognize them, as if these human beings do not exist,” said the relief activist.
The government of Myanmar considers a Muslim Rohingya as “illegal immigrants from Bangladesh”, while the United Nations classifies them as “the most persecuted religious minority in the world”.
Mr. Kagan says that “more than 110 villages have been destroyed and burned, in addition to five thousand house, a mosque and a school were destroyed and burned,” noting that “the population of Arakan who go out can not return to their areas that they abandoned, and this threatens the process of a real displacement of Muslims there.” .
“We wanted to send a delegation of Turkish doctors, but the Bangladeshi government did not give us permission,” he said.
“The most important assistance comes from the Turkish people and some associations from Islamic and Arab countries such as Qatar, Kuwait and Pakistan,” he said.
On Tuesday, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International called on the UN Security Council to pressure the government of Myanmar to stop “ethnic cleansing” against the Rohingya community in the western province of Arakan.
Since August 25, the Myanmar army and Buddhist militias have committed genocide against the Rohingya Muslims in Arakan (Arakan).
Clear statistics on the victims of that genocide is not available, but human rights activists in Arakan, said Anatolia, they spotted seven thousand and 354 people dead and 6 thousand Rohingya, since the beginning of the campaign last genocide until September 6th.
