Rohingya locals on Monday found three bodies belonging to a Muslim family in the city of Rathidaung, west of Arakan state.
Arakan news agency reported that a man and two of his sons had disappeared for several days and no one was found to be affected despite serious and persistent search and then found them suddenly on the edge of a river in the headless on Monday.
The victims were working on a farm they had rented from a Buddhist man for five years, including commercial relations, and there was no dispute, the reporter said.
A Buddhist man, who declined to be named, told the agency that he had seen members of the security forces arrest the victims on the day of disappearance and that they were involved in the killing of the victims.
Rohingya activists accused the authorities of involvement in the case to ignite violence between Muslims and Buddhists as the region witnessed the disappearance of a Buddhist man in which authorities blamed Muslims. “The authorities are trying to reignite violence again between the two largest ethnic groups in the state again to take advantage of the tensions in political gains,” he said.
