Continued clashes between Rakhine militants and the army around Pidong Sherua in Kyauktaw is creating uncertainty for the Muslim population in the area.
Following increased pressure from the army, the militants have hidden among the local populace where there is much support.
As the militants are known for anti Muslim purges, Rohingyas fear the worst once the army is gone.
There is also the concern that the army might use the Rohingyas as forced labour.
