Rohingya man imprisonment in Arakan and fined more than half a million

Burmese authorities sentenced a young man named Kamal Kalamia aged 25-year-old from the village of North Shilkhali Maungdaw city Arakan is sentenced to one year imprisonment and a fine of 600 thousand Burmese kyat on charges of possession and use of smartphone with Bangladeshi sim in its activation reported by an ANA correspondent.
Kamal was presented for inspection outside his home with a number of his friends by Burmese troops while he was roaming around the village, they beat him and arrested him then handed him over to the police.
It is noteworthy that the Burmese authorities have imposed a media censorship in Arakan State and prohibit the acquisition of Rohingya smartphones used for fear of persecution in the news leaked to the outside world.
