A group of Rohingya refugees gathered in the Malaysian city of Selangor on Tuesday to raise awareness about Rohingya education in Malaysia.
Arakan News Agency reported that the program was in coordination with the Global Rohingya Center (GRC) and the Humanti Society, attended by Malaysian Land Public Transport Commission Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar and representatives from several government agencies, as well as 250 students from 4 Rohingya schools.
In the speech, Albar urged the Rohingyas to continue their quest for Education, stressing that they are his children and that he will strive to help them and enable them to gain knowledge for a better future, and that among them will regain their stolen rights in their home country.
At the end of the program, organizers distributed school bags to students as a form of encouragement and motivation.
