Rohingya man survives boat accident in Arakan

A Rohingya man survived a boat sinking in a river in Buhtidaung city, east of Arakan province, while other  four missing from the board were happen to be security personnels.
Arakan News Agency correspondent said the Rohingya man was sailing the sunken boat with seven Myanmar security members on board with two other boats sailing with him, also with members of the security forces, who wished to move to the other side of the river.
The reporter added that the Rohingya man and three security forces were able to swim and reach the river bank, while four were missing in the river and the search is still under way by the authorities.
It is noteworthy that the state of Arakan has abundant rivers in many of its territory and the depths of some of them to several hundred meters and witnesses from time to time incidents of sinking due to poor control of boats and maintenance.
