Relief calls from Rohingya on the border

26 October 2017

Arakan News Agency

Rohingya activists launched urgent distress calls from the coast of the village of Dum Khali in the state of Arakan via video clips recorded by cell phones.
The footage showed children and women dying , according to activists, because of the deteriorating living and health conditions. They are covered with plastic sheets under the sun and complain of hunger and thirst.
The conditions of the Rohingya displaced in Arakan state are worsening day after day as they fled a military campaign launched by Myanmar security forces since August 25th, in which their homes and villages were burned down.
