Qatar is concerned about deterioration of the situation of Rohingya and calls to end discrimination

The Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri expressed his country ‘s deep concern about the deterioration of the minority Rohingya Muslims situation in Myanmar.

This came in a speech delivered by Qatar ‘s Al – Mansouri in front of “interactive dialogue with the High Commissioner for Human Rights on its annual 34th session of the Human Rights Council, on Thursday.

Al – Mansuri on behalf of his country called on to stop all forms of discrimination and attacks against Rohingya, and act urgently to address the massive human tragedy in which they live in, and work to reach a fundamental solution to their problems through a comprehensive peace settlement and genuine dialogue, they can enjoy all their rights and live in dignity and equality with their compatriots in a safe environment and national unity.

He stressed that based on respect for the diversity of cultures, religions and intellectual perspectives of international cooperation approach, which elevates the human dignity and rights in the first place, away from the interests and political positions, is the one approach which can make this optimal mechanism to address the considerable challenges taking place in our world today.
