The role of Turkey in alleviating the suffering of the Rohingya Muslims is strong and prominent,” said Salamullah Hamid, president of the Association forf Rohingya Associations in Bangladesh and Myanmar.

In an interview with Anadolu, Hamid stressed that “the Turkish role was very strong and prominent in this area, especially since the positions of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan support Rohingya preceded by any other in the world.”

He added that “the Turkish role supporting us also translated through the visit of a high Turkish delegation to Bangladesh, distributed aid to the Rohingya fleeing Myanmar, in addition to talking with the Government of Bangladesh to resolve the issue.”

Hamid said that “international organizations and journalists are absent from the Arakan province in Myanmar, so the image of what is happening there is unclear, especially with the Government of Myanmar policy of disinformation.”

He pointed out that “the international media does not highlight the issue of Rohingya because the victims are Muslims, and if it is not so rushed to Myanmar to protect civilians.”

“The government of Myanmar is involved in the killing and annihilation of Muslims, along with the Buddhist militias, and this is why the authorities are afraid to reveal the extent of injustice and persecution suffered by Muslims,” Hamid said.

“The issue in Myanmar is primarily religious and then political and economic,” he said, warning that “if things continue as they are now, and the international community does not take a strong stand before it is too late, the Buddhist forces will continue their operations against Muslims, After their elimination or deportation to another country. “

Hamid called on Islamic countries to “expeditiously provide political, diplomatic and financial support to the Muslim minority in Myanmar.”

He called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League and the Gulf Cooperation Council to “pressure their allies in the West to raise the issue of Rohingya to the Security Council.”

Since August 25th, the Myanmar army has committed genocide against Rohingya Muslims in Arakan province.
