Organization of Islamic Cooperation discusses the issue of Rohingya at its preparatory meeting for the next session

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yusuf Al-Othaimeen, addressed the situation of Muslim minorities in Myanmar at the opening session for the 44th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, to be held in Abidjan in July 2017, entitled as “Youth, Peace and Development in a World of Solidarity”.

Al-Othaimeen called for further work to the system of laws and regulations aimed at combating terrorism and intensify cooperation with the international community to develop a comprehensive approach that takes into accounts for all security, economic, cultural, social and intellectual dimensions. It focuses on all forms of discrimination, extremism and misinterpretation of the Islamic religion.
