The Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the Prevention of Genocide Adama Deng, said that there are real concerns about how to address the ongoing violence in northwestern Myanmar.
The UN official pointed out that the conflict in the state of Arakan in Myanmar led to the escape of Rohingya Muslims across the border into Bangladesh amid accusations that security forces committed abuses.
