Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan asked for handful of the soil of Arakan in his grave in the Ottoman cemetery there.
This came through the participation of Erdoğan in a conference “Old friends meet President of the Republic,” where Erdoğan met, a number of Turkish politicians and intellectuals with whom he discussed. Where Erdoğan said: “my will to my wife and my children, when I die to put on my grave a handful of soil taken from Arakan in the tomb of Mohammed Osman Oglu buried in the Ottomans Martyrs Cemetery.
