Severe flooding displaced hundreds of Rohingya

Rohingya displaced by severe flooding hit in northern Arakan State in Myanmar at least 1,700 Rohingya Muslims, also large quantities of agricultural crops were destroyed as announced Human rights documentation sector of the Global Rohingya Center.

The heavy rains last week on the city Kyukto located north of the state, caused severe flooding and considerable material losses also cut off roads due to landslides in the wide areas, while media sources in Myanmar reported that twenty people at least were killed and thousands were affected by these floods .
Arakan news agency reported that more than ten thousand families of Rohingya Muslims planted their crops of rice and sugar cane, which was intended for use or sale but now these people are in dire need of urgent food supplies.

Rohingya activist Mohammad Ayoub Alsaidy said the Myanmar government began providing initial assistance to those affected by the flood but only to Buddhist and ignored Muslim Rohingya, amidst of flood they continued their provocative abusive practices against Rohingyas in the vicinity of affected areas and other places, appealing to humanitarian and relief organizations quickly to provide the necessary aid urgently.
Meteorologists predicted that the tropical storm passes by the coastal places in the state of Arakan, where many people live in remote coastal villages and internal displacement camps and the lack of infrastructure.
Rohingya minority’s homes in the state of Arakan are mostly made of wood, which led to worsening state of the disaster and the displacement of thousands, while waiting for emergency relief in affected areas.
