An elderly Rohingya man belonged to the city of Rathidaung Ongbrung town in Arakan State was beaten and abuse by Buddhist extremists.
Agency correspondent reported that a number of young Buddhists attacked the elderly Rohingya with machete and sharp objects on his way to a river bank for fishing, adding that the elderly is an extremely poor individual and his livelihood largely depends on his fishing.
The correspondent added that the elderly comnplained to police after the incident but they accused him of trying to fish in the river; before being released in exchange for 30 thousand Myanmar Kyat by the contributed money of the people of the town and payed the fine.
