Myanmar troops stormed a mosque in the city of Rathidaung, ripped through some of its contents and broke some of its parts, as several of them urinated around the mosque before Friday prayers, hampering Muslims from praying.
In a video received by Arakan News Agency, a local resident said that the Myanmar security forces arrived in the village before Friday Jumaa prayers, raided a number of houses, confiscated a number of belonging from Rohingyas, entered the mosque on the edge of the village.
Myanmar has a poor ranking among the states of religious freedom, according to the State Department report, which closed the mosque and school of Muslims in early August and forced the Rohingya last July to demolish a mosque in the city of Akyab and demolished in April a historic mosque more than 200 years.
