The Myanmar authorities in the city of Maungdaw, Arakan state, began last Sunday to remove the effects of the military campaign launched against the Rohingya Muslims in the past months, before the arrival of a UN investigative mission announced by the United Nations.
The sources said local authorities had sent several bulldozers to remove the remains of burnt and destroyed houses and remains of the Rohingya after the military campaign launched since October 9.
According to eyewitnesses, a bulldozer of the security forces moved into the town of Wabaik in Maungdaw and removed the destroyed remains of Rohingya houses and the land was cleared. They also dug away the graves where the bodies of the victims were buried.
Rohingya activist said that this is a trick by the government before the arrival of any international delegations visiting the region, where an international mission by the UN Human Rights Council is expected to arrive.
