Myanmar government warns Rohingyas for identity cards

A government official in the state of Arakan, Myanmar announced the granting of the Rohingya Muslim minority members two weeks maximum to deliver the temporary identity cards known white cards in their possession.
And says that the authorities will deal strictly with violators of the orders of the government, adding that if anyone refrain from handing out the cards during the prescribed limited time will end up in the prison.
For their part, a number of Rohingyas expressed concern over the consequences of handing the white cards in the hands of the authorities, some demanded an alternative cards to prove their identity in official transactions with government agencies in the event of delivery of the current cards.

A number of them said that their cards were burned during the fire that hit their homes and also added that the authorities put pressure on them, deal with them violently to deliver the cards despite their evidence that they were burned with all their possessions.
It is noteworthy that the President of Myanmar Thein Sein announced earlier that the temporary identity cards known white cards will expire the end of March.
The Myanmar authorities have begun a crackdown that was widespread in all cities and villages of Arakan, which is concentrated on the Rohingyas to grab them white cards starting from this month, and the campaign continues.
