Myanmar arrests one of those involved in the killing of a Rohingya man with the brick

Myanmar police arrested a Buddhist man on Wednesday in connection with an investigation into the death of a Rohingya man earlier this month in Arakan, the capital of Arakan state, by Buddhist extremists who attacked a car carrying a group of Rohingyas accompanied by a member of the Myanmar security forces.
According to local media, a policeman was accompanied by eight Rohingya Muslims as they passed through the predominantly Buddhist Yawar Ji Muruk district before a group of extremist Buddhists attacked Muslims, but the policeman fled the crime scene as soon as the perpetrators arrived.
“We have been interrogated by many and I can not remember the number of people we interviewed,” said Wynn Nong, police chief of the city of Akyab. But he gave no further details about the arrested man.
Wynn Nong said authorities would take action against police officers and others who took the Rohingya to the scene for violating the rules by transporting them so they could buy a boat.
According to the official Myanmar media, those attacked  the Rohingya group were going to make statements in a criminal case in the Akyab court and were accompanied by the police. During a break in the trial, seven men escorted the police to a nearby pier to buy a boat from a local businessman and were attacked by Buddhist extremists threw bricks at the Rohingyas and the policeman fled the scene.
