King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid has announced that its team is visiting Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. The visit was organized in cooperation with the Bangladeshi government and the International Organization for Migration.
Currently situated in Cox Bazar, the team have assessed the basic humanitarian needs the refugees lack. They aim to provide them with the missing necessities quickly in accordance with international standards.
The team has paid several visits, including the Balukhali camp, where about 125,000 people are living in it to assess their humanitarian needs in accordance with international standards in coordination with UN refugee organizations to unify efforts to serve Rohingya refugees.
This step is a continuation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud’s directives on providing emergency aid to Rohingya refugees in countries neighboring Myanmar.
The centre is keen on achieving positive outcomes for the refugees while partnering with United Nations organizations and other concerned parties.
The Center team also attended the regular coordination meeting of international and local organizations working in the health sector in the city of Cox-Bazar, and a visit to the main and only hospital in the city of Cox-Bazar.
The Center is studying the implementation of health projects that have a positive humanitarian impact in the Rohingya refugee camps and are making a difference in partnership with relevant international and specialized agencies and organizations.
This comes as a continuation of the generous directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to provide urgent assistance to the Rohingya refugees in the neighboring countries of Myanmar to alleviate their suffering.
