Nosima Begum breathed her last on Monday. Her mother was unable to provide her with breastfeeding in the last week as she ran out of milk after falling sick.
As there was no medical treatment, it is hard to pinpoint the exact reasons of death. Locals say that the girl was already malnourished and the absence of milk supply deteriorated her condition.
Nosima’s father died in a ‘Malaysia’ boat from mysterious circumstances. He never had the opportunity to see his daughter.
Since the father’s death, the family of four have often been living without proper food.
Things were made worse when the Bangladesh government evicted thousands of refugees in the area leading to a humanitarian crisis.
