A letter addressed to Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, the world’s biggest democratic country and Arjun Bahadur Thapa Secretary General of SAARC Secretariat have asked for the immediate intervention for protecting Rohingya Minorities in the Buddhist ruled Myanmar.
Secretaries Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society K.Ntarajan Srenivasu and Azizurrahman wrote letter to Modi to exercise his contacts with full authority on a personal level as well as organizational level with the Burmese Government to stop marginalizing and expelling Burmese Minorities, the so called Rohingya Muslims. IKFS pointed out that Rohingyans have lived in Burma/Myanmar for centuries and it’s absurd to condemn them to perpetual aliens.
The government in Rangoon has an obligation to treat all citizens equally without discrimination. The hate campaign by Buddhist bigots should not cow a whole Government to neglect and torture its citizens on basis of creed. It is so sick to see humans treat other humans as less than them.
Rohingyans were born and brought up in Myanmar for generations. IKFS has also sent letter Arjun Bahadur Thapa Secretary General of SAARC Secretariat (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) to stop Myanmar’s interactions with SAARC members and requested not to admit Myanmar as a member of SAARC, unless they stop the genocide and stop ethnic cleansing, even though Myanmar shares a long land boundary with some of the SAARC members.
