Hurricane Mora arrived Monday night in Arakan, western of Myanmar, at a speed of 90 mph and left much disasters in its trails to Rohingya Muslims camps and wooden houses.
Local authorities announced a public alert on Monday morning, with the Myanmar Meteorological and Water Sciences Commission issuing an orange warning.
Arakan news agency reported that the typhoon arrived in Arakan state at 10 pm, uprooting the houses of Rohingya and their huts, and severely damaging their farms and property. Residents said they feared floods and landslides due to heavy rains.
The Myanmar coast often experiences storms between April and December, causing deaths and extensive damage to property.
