An official of human rights sector in Global Rohingya Center (GRC), Dr Muhammad Tahir Al Arakany for what he described as
Crafty plans to seek the Burmese government to postpone the implementation process of the elections scheduled to be held in late 2015 and stay as long as possible to military rule to gain political ambitions through unrest and violence and the creation of a new crisis in the state.
Dr. Tahir said The work of the government in the implementation of the scheme is underway in full swing using various means, including the creation of security tensions between Muslims and Buddhists and the arrest of Muslim youths and tortured in prisons; so they can declare a state of emergency in the event of declared Muslim insurgency and exit systems arbitrary.
Dr. Tahir predicted to increase cases of detention and torture of Muslims in the coming period, and said: “What is happening now in western Burma, specifically in Maungdaw for violations and arrests is to pave the way for the imposition of a state of emergency and postpone the elections.”
He called on the Rohingya people inside of Arakan to be alert to these plans and not to help the government implement itself into riots in the coming period, or other processes may allow the government to invoke the Buddhist to justify its intention to postpone the elections.
