Towns and villages in Arakan have been affected since the heavy rains accompanied by winds and which caused strong flooding; what led to the occurrence of human lives and material losses furthermore damages to agricultural crops and the death of livestock and according to a source, the source added that the floods caused serious damage to the camps of the displaced Rohingyas in Akyab, the situation threatens a humanitarian catastrophe is imminent in light of ignoring the Burmese authorities and refrain from any intervention to rescue the victims and provide assistance to them under the pretext they are not citizens. And that many villages in Arakan remained soaked and submerged in water for long hours and nothing knows about the fate of their lives yet.
It is noteworthy that the Government of Myanmar has recently begun forcing Rohingyas in Arakan region with various ways and arbitrary actions to accept receipt of the green identity stating that the bearer is not a citizen of the State of Myanmar.
