Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU) and Global Rohingya Center (GRC) met a number of diplomatic and Islamic political figures on the sidelines, “Contemporary Challenges of Muslim minorities Conference” which was held in Taiwan, which also involved the issue of minority Muslim Rohingya.
Came from within those figures to meet His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs Taiwanese David Y.L. Lin, where he met the director of the Union (ARU) Professor Waqar Uddin and director of programs and conferences (GRC) Mr. Omar Shafi met the minister during which they exchanged ways of coexistence and peace between peoples also discussed aspects of cooperation between the two sides and ways of enhancing them.
The delegation also met the Secretary General of the Muslim World League Dr. Abdullah bin Turki expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Secretary regarding the kind invitation they received from the Association, which confirms they interest in minority Muslim Rohingya noting the significant role played by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the government in support of the Rohingya cause and stand with the Rohingya community residents in the Kingdom as his part, the Secretary expressed his happiness to share Rohingya delegation at the conference.
The delegation also met with the Head in the Saudi Embassy in Taiwan Mr. Talat Ibrahim Maslamani who expressed dissatisfaction with the violations committed against the Rohingya minority.
The delegation received a letter of invitation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan to attend a dinner on Tuesday, April 14, with the rest of the delegations at the ministry’s headquarters in Taipei for welcoming the delegates participating in the conference.
