Death of a Rohingya patient after Myanmar government refuses to treat him

A Rohingya died in the city of Akyab, capital of the state of Arakan after days of suffering from diseases in his body under the obstinacy of the Myanmar government and its refusal to allow humanitarian organizations and medical access to areas inhabited by Rohingya.
The correspondent of the Arakan news agency reported that the Rohingya was named Muhammad Younus and he was living in the displaced persons’ camps in Akyab.

He suffered from pains and bulges in the abdomen and could not relieve the need. He tried to leave the camp in search of treatment but his poor health and financial blockage the Rohingya suffered, he was unable.

He passed away on last Wednesday after his health worsened.

Many Rohingya refugees in Arakan, western of Myanmar, suffer from many epidemic diseases as government hospitals refuse to receive them and there are no international organizations providing medical assistance to these patients.

A camp resident told the agency that the Rohingya refugees were slowly dying in these camps, there is no water which is suitable for human consumption and no treatment for diseases caused by malnutrition, calling on humanitarian and international organizations to provide health care and save them from the death awaiting each patient in these camps.
