A contingent of Rohingyas being arrested by Burmese military personnel in an arbitrary manner.
Dozens of Rohingyas were arrested from Haji Village South of Maungdaw city in Arakan by storming of the village and detaining anyone around during late hours of night without any charge as the ANA correspondent reported, adding that he was among the detainees those were at older ages and they were released in exchange for handing all of the livestock animals including chickens to members of the Army; with young people were taken to a nearby camp. A number of villagers said they believe that young detainees are being tortured at the hands of the Burmese army with a brutal manner, also are not allowed to visit them by their relatives to contact them to check on their condition.
It is noteworthy that the government prisons in Arakan includes hundreds of Rohingya detainees without charge or trial, and languishing inside under torture since the events of the sectarian violence that took place in 2012.
