Bangladesh is holding talks with Myanmar on Monday to ensure the return of more than half a million Rohingya Muslims to Myanmar, most of whom arrived in Bangladesh in late August.
The United Nations has called for the displacement of 507,000 Rohingya since August 25, the fastest-growing refugee crisis in the world, and says Myanmar, which has a Buddhist majority, is ethnic cleansing against the minority Muslims of Rohingya.

Myanmar holds Muslims responsible for attacks on civilians and most of the fires that have destroyed more than half of the more than 400 Rohingya villages in northern Arakan but Rohingya Muslims says it’s all Myanmar governments propaganda.

Prime Minister Sheikha Hasina called to end the violence and establish safe areas in Myanmar to enable refugees to return.
She also called for the formation of a UN fact-finding mission in Myanmar and urged Myanmar to implement the recommendations made by a team headed by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan to resolve the problems in Arakan.
A Bangladeshi foreign ministry official said Bangladesh would focus on those five proposals in talks in Dhaka on Monday with Kyaw Tint Sui, a Myanmar government official, especially the permanent return of refugees.
“We do not think this crisis will be resolved in just one meeting,” said the official, who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
