Assistant Director – General of the Arakan Rohingya Union ARU, said that the whole world has witnessed the tragedy of the Rohingya Muslims, who are subjected to ethnic cleansing by the authorities in Myanmar, and that the organization does not see the Security Council’s position satisfactory on this issue.
He added that the organization is waiting for the Security Council to reveal its true role in resolving the Rohingya crisis by issuing a resolution obliging Myanmar to stop its attacks on the minority. Condemning ethnic cleansing, genocide and human rights violations.
He pointed out that the United Nations has made 4 recommendations in this regard, the most important of which is to allow humanitarian organizations to enter the affected areas in Arakan, but more is still needed, stressing that the crisis of the Rohingya Muslims is a humanitarian catastrophe of the first degree, A political solution is needed.
