Burmese army opened fire randomly at residents of the village, “Hati Fara” in Maungdaw in Arakan on Friday morning.
Killing up to 50 Rohingya and wounding 70 others, according to reporters.
Eyewitnesses said that the army began shooting since early morning, after that the residents tried to escape the village out of fear of violence; as a result of full siege from all sides.
Arakan News Agency correspondent also reported that a large number of arrests were made which reached roughly around 80 detainees from the same village, including two in critical condition after being brutally tortured by the Burmese army.
In the same context, news reports indicated that dozens of young Rohingya women were sexually abused in the village of “Hati Fara”
It mentioned that the army abused about 10 Rohingya girls and went missing from the village and took around 60 Rohingya youth to the mountains and forests, by about Rakhine extremist carrying knives and machetes.
It is worth mentioning that the Burmese government launched a violent attacks on Rohingya with unprecedented killings and destruction to villages of Arakan within a week after international pressure and claims through demonstrations around the world to stop the extermination of Rohingya.
