Buddhists in Rathidaung city of Arakan state held a protest march against Rohingyas who they named as “Bengalis” the agency reporter said, adding that the march was attended by about 1,000 Buddhist, led by some monks and during the march they demanded Rohingya doesn’t belong to the country under the pretext of being immigrants and they have expressed their opposition to the proposal by Myanmar government earlier to referring Rohingyas as the “Muslims of Arakan.”
It is noteworthy that the government last month submitted a proposal to the Human Rights Council in Geneva that it has decided to use of the phrase “the Muslim community in Arakan State” to replace titles as “Rohingya” or “Bengali” which the government described as controversial those are used to describe the nearly one million Muslims in Myanmar.
