Myanmar has declared a curfew in northern Arakan, where more than 1 million Rohingyas live.
The decision comes in the context of the deployment of hundreds of troops in the region under the concern of the United Nations against abuses against Rohingya Muslims, as happened in October 2016.
According to local state media, the government deployed about 500 soldiers in the city of Buthidaung and Maungdaw and imposed a curfew.
Local Rohingya residents expressed fear of the move and repeat of the brutal crackdown similar to last year.
